Airforce One Performance FAQs:
Who is Airforce One Performance?
Airforce One Performance Industries is the leader
in the design and manufacturing
of the only all-stainless steel fuel injection
performance systems. Airforce
One Performance Intakes are designed
from the ground up with absolute performance, quality
and longevity
in mind for our customers. With
over 40 years of combined aviation experience,
our systems combine
the use of aviation grade stainless
steel polished to a mirror finish that will never
rust or corrode
regardless of the climate the
system is exposed to.
What makes AF1 high-performance intake kits special?
Our hardware
carries a grade 5 or higher where needed using aerospace standards. The support
systems are carefully designed for proper support and vibration isolation to
reduce material fatigue for long service life. Where Airforce One has evolved
into the premier manufacture of today's performance intake systems is the use
of our custom designed and molded Hi-Temp stabilized composite adapter boots,
couplings and MAS airflow venturi adapters. These components make the installation
much easier for the installer to attach the necessary breather lines, temp sensors
and add that 'concourse class' appearance to the complete
system. Many of our systems utilize our Venturi Adapter when coupled with our
Power Stack Filter will generate additional horsepower over comparable full system
replacements.
The Venturi Adapter generates
a high vacuum in the filter enabling the filter to draw a higher volume of air
while naturally lowering the ambient incoming air temperature by several degrees
eliminating the need to put the filter 'back in a box'.
The Power Stack filters are sized
to each system and carry a lifetime warranty. With this dedication to quality,
our customers will find Airforce One will work as advertised, will increase fuel
economy and will add that true custom appearance under the hood that they are
looking to achieve. There are many intake systems and filter adapter kits available
in today's market to choose from, but now there is....
Airforce One!
Will an aftermarket intake system void my new car warranty?
New Vehicle Warranties
And Your Rights
No aftermarket part or accessory that is properly
installed on your vehicle will entirely void your original vehicle manufacturers
warranty. According to the provisions in the
Magnuson-Moss Warranty - Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act,
It is the dealership's responsibility to prove that your modification directly
caused or affected the failure you are trying to resolve. With that said, some
dealerships are more performance-oriented than others and are more willing to
work with customers.
Warranty-related materials, published by the new
vehicle manufacturers, state that the installation of aftermarket parts have
no effect on the warranty unless such equipment causes the problem that leads to
the warranty claim. Nonetheless, some dealers have improperly denied
warranty claims even though the claim had nothing to do with aftermarket parts.
I.E., just because you install an exhaust system, your suspension failure
warranty claim cannot be denied. If you experience a problem with an
uncooperative dealership, point out the provisions of this "FEDERAL ACT".
For more information call your vehicle manufacturer or click on the link above
to go directly to the Federal Trade Commission's website to find out more about
this law.
Is there even more information available to me?
Yes, SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Market
Association, has extensive information about this issue. Check out their
information in the following categories:
(1)
Warranty Denied?
(2)
Unfair Warranty
Denial?
SEMA also keeps track of illegal / unethical practices by
dealers regarding this area. If you should have to go to court or to arbitration
to settle your warranty complaint,
contact SEMA with the details.
What else can I do?
In large cities, there are always other
dealers you can do business with. It's a good idea to find out about the most
cooperative performance-oriented dealer available to you by checking with clubs,
local groups, etc.
If you live in smaller communities, make
sure that an uncooperative dealer knows that they are giving you plenty of
reason to take you business elsewhere.
If you should have to do that, write the
"manufacturer" to tell them that their dealer's activities have caused you to
buy from another car company!
How do I clean my Airforce One filter?
Filter Cleaning Instructions:
The general method for cleaning your AIRFORCE ONE Performance Filter will
be to carefully remove the filter from your intake system and to apply the cleaning
emulsifier by spraying the entire filter allowing it to soak in for a few minutes.
Next, simply hose off the filter, washing away the dirt build-up and shaking
the excess water from the filter. If the filter is heavily soiled, you may decide
to give it a second cleaning. (Note: the color of the filter membrane will retain
the color of the oil used due to the dye in the oil. If an oil color change is
desired, it will take several cleanings!) Allow the filter to dry by placing
it in the sun or a warm environment.
"Do Not Use Compressed Air" to blow dry your filter.
The filtering element is a seven layer membrane and compressed air used to
remove the excess water can rupture the element and void your warranty! After
drying, apply the oil sparingly either by spray or pump bottle, allowing the
oil to "wick" through the filter element. A light even coating is all that is
needed. Do not try to paint the deep rich color into the filter. Place the filter
on several layers of newspaper, (standing on end) to allow any excess oil to "wick" onto
the paper for several hours. Wipe off the over spray from the mounting flange
and the end ring. Then reinstall your filter. You're done and ready to go again
for at least 10,000 more miles. **If used off-road, clean as needed
